Alphonse Areola – Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may be one step closer to solving his goalkeeping conundrum after being offered the services of Areola on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain (Daily Mirror, September 9).

David Raya – Brentford goalkeeper Raya is prepared to hand in a transfer request to try and force through a move to Arsenal (Daily Mail, September 9); Arsenal have reportedly identified Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as a replacement for Emiliano Martinez (Daily Mirror, August 29).

Philippe Coutinho – Coutinho looks set to stay at Barcelona in a new role under manager Ronald Koeman – ending Arsenal’s hopes of signing him (The Sun, September 8); The Brazilian prefers a return to the Premier League and Arsenal are among a trio of clubs interested in the 28-year-old Champions League winner (Marca, August 26); Arsenal are seen as ‘only possible solution’ to the Coutinho transfer problem (Mirror, August 12); Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester are all options for the Barcelona and Brazil midfielder (Sport, July 29); Coutinho has reportedly changed his mind about Arsenal after initially snubbing an approach from the Gunners (Daily Mirror, July 29).

Houssem Aouar – Arsenal target Houssem Aouar reportedly ‘only wants’ Juventus this summer, in a transfer blow to the Gunners. Mikel Arteta’s side are interested in the Lyon ace, and are even believed to be willing to offer cash-plus-Matteo Guendouzi to land his signature (The Sun, August 25)

Emiliano Martinez – Aston Villa have asked about Arsenal goalkeeper Martinez but are reluctant to meet Arsenal’s asking price of around £20m (Daily Mail, September 8); Schalke are interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (Sky Sports, August 30); Marcelo Bielsa is monitoring developments with Arsenal goalkeeper Martinez (Mail on Sunday, August 30); The Arsenal goalkeeper says 10 clubs in Europe are interested in signing him after the 27-year-old Argentine’s impressive end to the season (Marca, August 15).

Lucas Torreira – Arteta is willing to listen to offers for the 24-year-old – who joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2018 – in order to raise cash and land other targets. According to Labaro Viola, Fiorentina are ready to take advantage by taking him on a season-long loan worth £8m. They will then pay another £16m fee to make it permanent next summer. Sokratis Papastathopoulos – Napoli are interested in signing Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, according to Sky in Italy (Sky Sports, September 3).

Matteo Guendouzi – Arsenal outcast Guendouzi has hinted he is staying – despite interest from Valencia (The Sun, September 9); PSG have snubbed the chance to sign the Arsenal midfielder, who looks set for the exit door (Daily Mirror, September 3); Arsenal want to sell Matteo Guendouzi with Valencia interested in the out-of-favour French midfielder (Daily Mirror, September 2); Arsenal have offered midfielder Guendouzi as part of their bid to sign Lyon star Houssem Aouar this summer, according to reports (Daily Mail, August 21).

Mesut Ozil – Ozil has been thrown an unlikely Arsenal lifeline and may be in contention to play in the Premier League opener against Fulham after playing his first game in six months for the club (The Sun, September 7); Clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar have expressed interest in signing Ozil this summer, but the Arsenal playmaker remains insistent that he has no intention of leaving London (Daily Telegraph, September 1); Arsenal are angry with Mesut Ozil after the midfielder broke ranks to defend his decision to reject a reduction in his £350,000-per-week wages, while hinting that may be why Mikel Arteta stopped selecting him (Daily Mail, August 14).

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – Wolves’ pursuit of Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks to be at an end as they now believe Arsenal want to keep him at the Emirates (Sky Sports, August 31).

Rob Holding – Newcastle United are in talks with Arsenal over the loan signing of defender Rob Holding (Sky Sports, August 30).

Hector Bellerin – Bayer Leverkusen are surprise contenders for Arsenal full-back Bellerin (Daily Telegraph, September 7); Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks with Arsenal over a £30m move for Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin (Daily Mail, September 2); Arsenal are holding firm on a £27m asking price for Bellerin, with Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo keen to bring him to Turin this summer (Daily Star, August 28).

Emile Smith Rowe – Arsenal have snubbed an approach from Monaco for the 20-year-old (Daily Mail, August 26).

Sead Kolasinac – The Arsenal full-back wants to return to Schalke (Sky Germany, August 26).
